10 Animals Being Used for Human Entertainment

This is a list of animals that are being used for our entertainment against their free will. They are held captive and used to perform tricks for greedy profiteers.

Elephants

Elephants are used as tools in India, they do a lot of construction work for the Indian people but they are treated as elephants would be in the wild. They are given the same rights as an Indian worker would be and they do not have cages to keep them in an area. Elephants are pretty smart and they will form a friendship with humans as long as they are being treated right. In the circus they do not have these privileges, they may be confined to a small patch of land and they travel for miles in the back of a truck every few days. They are used for performing tricks in the big ring. Elephants are able to travel miles everyday in the wild but in the wild they are not confined by a cage on a truck. They get mentally effected over long periods same thing different town, they will spend most of their life in the circus and will never see the freedoms that they were born to see.

Dolphins

Dolphins are native to the seas of the world and you wouldn’t expect to see them anywhere else in the world. They are being used for human entertainment in aqua parks across the globe, these parks are for one purpose only to generate profit for their owners. Here you pay a fee to see dolphins perform tricks for treats, they have a cage of water keeping them from the freedom of the open sea. Dolphins in the wild live in family groups of up to 50 individuals, to keep a dolphin by itself in captivity could mentally destroy the animal, that is why they keep them in twos or threes in these parks. Most of these dolphins have been plucked from the ocean and put in these parks for entertainment, the dolphins that have been born in captivity will never know what it is like to experience the ocean currents or to follow a boat or jump along in front of a ship.

Killer Whales

You wouldn’t think that whales would be held in captivity because of their sheer size, well in America they have built a big enough tank to hold two against their will. Instead of hunting at the Artic Circle with their other whale buddies they are in Florida performing tricks in a huge fish tank for the public. These whales are as smart as the dolphin and elephant, but yet they are reduced to performing tricks for food. Keeping any of these animals in captivation is against Gods will, this doesn’t matter what God you believe in or whether you believe in one or not. It is wrong by any stretch of an imagination and should be stopped.

Another great article. This is good for people to see the negative side to their entertainment. I love and hate the horse picture. I love it because it shows the raw nature of these “sports” and I hate it for the same reason. lol

Okay, I understand the hard feelings many have about this, but I must weigh in on this subject in another way. I am an animal lover and would do anything in my power to help them. However, many of these animals know no other life except captivity and performing. They are constantly being fed and cared for. They do not have to go for days and weeks looking for food and water, as they might in the wild. They are not threatened by other animals for their lives. These animals generally know no difference. Many of these animals would not survive in the wild and would come back if turned loose. Animals are smart. If they have shelter and food and not threatened for survival, and treated was care, most of them, raised in captivity are content. Problems come in to play when and if man has decided they no longer have no value. Then, possibly they are discarded.

In most cases, the animals that are used in this fashion, and came from the wild, are now no longer fit to be freed again. That’s the tragedy. We’ve made them dependent upon us for survival. Good work, Stephen.

I didn’t even have to read much of the text to know that this list is one sided.

And it seems no one pays attention to Westbrook and inbetween.

Oh well… I guess my personal experience caring for seals and sea lions in an aquarium won’t be heard either. They were all wonderful animals, truly brilliant, and cared for like our own children. If we are abusers because we chose to save and rehabilitate almost all of them even though we knew they could never return to the wild, then I guess I’ll take my jail time and memories.

    Hey Westbrook!

So because they know no other life, are you saying that animals should continue to be used in these fashions? Could the same have been said about slaves who were provided with food and clothing and a roof over their heads? Maybe you should ask some of the people in prison whether or not they would like to stay where they are or have their freedom? Yes indeed, the bears who have chains and cords through their noses and are made to dance for the entertainment of “animal lovers” like you, would certainly rather not go looking for berries and fish on their own seeing as how they are fed by their captors. I would say that these animals are abused and you Westbrook, excuse it!

I hate to see animals cruelly used for entertainment, and can’t understand people who enjoy seeing animals fighting. The other side of it is that as other people have pointed out, most of these animals that you have mentioned couldn’t survive in the wild, and are actually doing a lot to make people aware of how precious their wild relatives are. Would so many people care about the plight of wild creatures if they hadn’t seen them?

Take another look Westbrook, does that dog look like it’s being “cared for?” And Katien, that’s a sick, sorry, and grossly mistaken justification for the brutalization of anything. I’ve heard it used before – FAIL.

All people need to read this article. People can be heartless. I’m glad I’m not one of them.
