Abortion: The Silent Voice of the Unborn

Let’s make a difference for the unborn.

I woke up early one morning around 5am. Half a sleep and half awake.  Television was still on and woke up to this program called The Miracle of Life (something like that).  The pictures I saw were pretty gruesome. At first glance, I wondered what this is. I saw portions of little arms, hands, and tiny heads on the palm of someone’s hands. I turned around to not watch and wondered this is someone’s horrible way of making a joke, but then I couldn’t get the pictures out of my mind. I had never seen pictures or videos of abortion before, so needless to say this was a bit of a shock.  I turned back around and saw the program. It was an eye opener on abortion.

Do we ever put ourselves in the place of the unborn? Or ask ourselves what if it was me? The fate of the unborn is in the palm of the hand of someone else (figuratively and literally). Have you ever been in the position where your fate was in someone else’s hand?  I think that we have all been in the hand of someone who decides our fate for a certain opportunity or outcome. We have no choice but to deal with the fate of that decision. If the decision doesn’t go our way, there’s a hurt and pain we have to deal with.  However, the upside to this is that we still get a second chance somewhere else. We have the gift of second chance to redo to restart to rediscover ourselves or our lives.  If the pendulum swings our way, we breathe a sigh of relief at the divine mercy that our Lord has bestowed on us.  The gifts of second chances or divine mercy are beautiful gifts.   I believe these gifts come from God.  Only He knew that we as imperfect human beings would need these gift. Once we pass through the birth canal and are born into this world, there’s much blessings await us. These blessings do not discriminate. God’s blessings never discriminate. They are for all who need them and desire them. Shouldn’t we at least try to pass it on? We should.

The unborn is not given a second chance to partake in the blessings that our Lord has ready for them after they pass through the birth canal. They are not given the gifts of divine mercy. The really sad part is that it is actually legal to not bless someone with one of these well deserving gifts.  Have we forgotten how precious life is?  Did we forget where we came from?  All human beings have been in the position of being an unborn and someone had mercy on us. Why is it wrong for us to pass on these wonderful gifts to the helpless and the voiceless?  Are we so caught up with ourselves that these gifts are just not important enough to pass it on to someone else? How can we begin to be merciful? These questions are for you to ponder and take a positive action.
