Action vs. Inaction
An insight into the various decisions made by our elected officials over the past year.
Action or Inaction
Will our elected officials ever take the average person into their consideration when they are supposedly acting on our behalf?
I have requested on several occasions to speak with my elected official in congress and have yet to actually speak or meet with him to express my concerns on matters that are important to me and others as well. I have called his office and written emails and physical letters with little to no action from him. His office sent me an acknowledgment they had received my correspondence but his concerns seems to be focused on all other matters and not the constituency he is supposed to represent.
As long as our elected officials have this type of non-action when it concerns their constituents then where is the representation? How are we supposed to express our concerns to be heard? Calling his office does not help either because the office staff rarely knows how to answer the caller.
While time goes by we still are looking into the dark abyss trying to make the connection with our elected officials but with few to no results from them. How then can we express ourselves to them when they simply do not care?
The American future is at stake here and we must find a way to let our elected officials know where we stand on matters of concern to us. Shall we contact the news media or other entities to get our questions and concerns answered? Where do we find our voice?
As this is being written, our elected officials are doing the work of the people behind closed doors to keep the actual truth from being known as it relates to our economic and financial future. How can we find a way to reveal the actual truth and not the so-called truth they tell us? What happened to the supposed transparency portrayed during the election last year and the beginning of this year? It seems that the transparency became very cloudy and obstructed in the final analysis. How can this be fixed? Who is behind this type of blind-sightedness? Can or rather, will this ever be brought into the light of day so the real constituents will have the chance to see exactly what has been done and by whom?
We find that the costs are very high as to how we get our congress to move on any program, project, law, or future monetary and economic matter. Is there a simpler way to do this without hindering or hurting our nation?
They speak of long term effects from no action and even longer term effects with actions they have taken, so where do we stand? We must find a way to get results with the least amount of harm done to our country and economy. How will this effect our country and people into the future?
We Americans have always been there to help other nations in times of turmoil and discontent when asked or needed and seems that we would fare as well in the current global crisis. However, this does not seem to be the case since the economic collapse last year when the supposed first stimulus checks were approved and sent by the former president. Now, after a second round of supposed stimulus checks were approved and sent by the current president we are still exactly where we were prior to these supposed stimulus checks and with fewer jobs being created and more jobs being dissolved into the abyss.
Green and renewable energy is on the agenda for the current administration with few to no results in reality to create or maintain new jobs or careers into the future. If this were indeed a priority under this administration, then we would find much more influence to expand and multiply green energy jobs and careers. However, our current administration is biding time it seems to allow the Wall Street entities and major banks that were rewarded vast amounts of stimulus monies to keep the status-quo with little to no regulation as before. Why is this type of practice still being allowed? Where are the policy tools kept?
