Article of showing compassion to others.

We as writers have the power to reach a large audience. I believe that I am obligated to share with you the importance of giving the gift of compassion and caring. This is free and everyone needs to feel cared for. By showing empathy to others in need, you could be not just lifting their spirit but saving a life. Many times we pass by others on the street, ever notice how little people smile at each other. Some walk by as though you aren’t even there. I always try to look people in the eye, smile, and nod. Acknowledge their presence, I try not to judge others. I see the homeless people on the street. Some of them dirty, carrying everything they own with them. I have been in their shoes. They could have had a nice house, a family, nice car, and a bank account. Due to whatever circumstances this is where they are today. They may have lost their self-worth along the way. Maybe they feel like they are invisible, that it really doesn’t matter if they are here or not. Its up to those around them to lend a helping hand. After all, if we were in their shoes, wouldn’t we want to at least be acknowledged. . Maybe they have no family, no friends, with nowhere to turn, and have lost hope. Sometimes all it takes is a smile and someone willing to listen to their story. Many have a great story to tell, if just given the chance. Its not to hard to say an encouraging word to someone. Loneliness is one of the largest problems people face. Its not just the homeless, loneliness, does not discriminate its victims. Many of the elderly suffer from loneliness. How important it is to be there for others in their time of need. One day we shall be in need too. When that day comes I hope that my good deeds will bring the reward of someone extending their hand. Even if its only a smile, most precious is a laugh it always lifts the heart. So next time you see that stranger on the street, remember my words. Give these free gifts of showing compassion to those around you. This should put you more at ease with yourself also. Giving can truly be a reward in itself.

I also use my gift of writing to expose the deplorable conditions of the “least of the least, and the poorest of the poor.” Compassion can mend broken hearts, and open doors of hope to those who feel forgotten. Great write.

great article. the area i live in there is alot of australian indingious people who are homeless we often see them in large groups at the park with blankets pillows and stuff. Or at night they often go into the middle of the city mall and sleep there we see them all come on over the walking bridge as dark comes. Its sad I want to do something for them, but i guess the good thing is that they have other people
