Between a Rock and a Ring
Self help-how to go green and like it.
Going green has meant that every purchase, every movement, even vacation is met with a flurry of thoughts. What is the impact of my actions to my carbon foot print? A crushing world economy has shifted our focus to how much green do we have at our disposal and whether any form of trade is absolutely necessary. Love has gone green. No more roses, no more diamonds…more and more save the earth and in the process salvage the bank statement. For those caught between a rock and a ring, here are top 5 ways of ensuring your green love not only saves the earth but also makes a green life worth living:
1. Eat Green:
Eat more salads and vegetables. This will eventually translate to less body mass index, less cooking, less spending and way less carbon foot print.
2. Wear Green:
Do not necessarily go out of your way to wear green colors(pink is great!) When you can its perfect but make sure to wash less loads, use water wisely, and vacation at the beach if you can. A bathing suit is really green clothing item.
3. Buy Green:
Buy fair trade items when you can. But most of all acquire solid investments that make some green in your pocket available all year round.
4. Live Green:
Turn off the lights more often, switch of the television, and prudently use the air conditioning. Make time to talk and have candle light dinners. Create romantic walks, love runs and couple cycling.
5. Bling Green:
You have not escaped buying that ring. Buy it with a green stone: emerald, tourmaline, chrome diopside, chrome tourmaline, peridot, chrysoprase, tsavorite, chrysoberyl, bloodstone, alexandrite and jade. The list of green gems is endless.
