Changes Within Our World

Adjusting to the changes happening to the earth and our bodies.

I will describe exactly what I mean when I talk about these issues.  Let us look at the effect that our most extreme mining activities create upon our earth, in total, in order to see that the heating up of the earth, which is occurring at the moment, might be a result of something much grander than to say that it only comes purely from man made pollution.

The earth’s diameter is 12753 km and the deepest drilling for oil was around 12000 meters recorded.  This means that the deepest depth that we will go to with such production is equivalent of the earth’s diameter at 1:1063 estimated.  It is only just touching the surface to how much we really know about the inside of the earth.

With oil mining we pump out per year an equivalent of 8 124 900 cubic meters.  That is now in our current time.  The most oil that we have mined occurred after the 1970’s.  If you were to say that the same rate of oil was seen to be pumped every year from then to now, it would come to an estimated value of 308,746,200 cubic meters of oil pumped in the whole of this time.  You can weigh this up with an estimation of the amount of water of the entire oceans of the world, which is also only sitting on the surface of the earth at the greatest depth of around an estimate of 11000 meters when it comes to the Pacific Ocean.  The cubic meters of the water on the surface of the earth is at est. 1,368,569,000,000,000,000 cubic meters.  Oil consumption in 38 years then has only really been a drop in the ocean.

Oil makes more effect on the atmosphere to which we live than it does when it comes to the mining process.  Its effect on wildlife and the air that we breathe has been more debilitating to human, plant and animal life than it has been for the life of the planet as a whole.  The planet is far bigger than the effect we can ever hope to have on it, unless we were to scale things up to such enormous levels that were even beyond anything we could imagine making up, let alone having the ability to destroy the planet in total.  Instead we would firstly destroy ourselves before ever having the chance to make such a large degree of effect on the earth in our now human capacity.  Yes, we really are that small compared to the entirety of the earth, as you can imagine, to the whole solar system we are only but a thought.

I tend to agree- also the earth is a living organism, and in our short lifetime, any changes appear quite large and significant. – although , I feel that the changes in life and living organisms today are quiet difficult to aclimatise to. Interesting read.
