Earth Aid
It is time for the world to wake up to what I’m saying! The Planet Is In Trouble!!!
| I ask you, what gives an idea true value? Is it the ability to help yourself or the ability to help the world? We as a human race have singlehandedly sown the seeds that brought forth the destruction of our own planet. Now, I used to be as much to blame as the next man but I have learned the error of my ways. The same can not be said for Earth’s allies, a term that I use ever so lightly. Earth is in serious peril and what are recycling industries doing about it? NOTHING! I find it sad that their meager existence depends solely on filling their own greedy pockets. Please don’t misread me, I do believe a man needs to support himself and his family in certain situations. If running a recycling center is what a person wants to do they need to be in it wholeheartedly or not at all. There a few true believers in the industry that can see Earth’s need for survival and my hat is off to those heroes. If only the rest of the industry held the planet in such high regards and valued the importance of its survival and how it impacts us as a supposedly superior race. In my research I have seen most centers only want things like aluminum, copper, and other metals that can fatten their wallets and/or purses; it is pathetic and wrong. I have become increasingly more aggravated with most recycling centers throughout the world. They will do whatever it takes to get the biggest bang for their buck. Even the centers that are trying to get started are following that same insidious rule: “Only recycle what can bring the most revenue”. I’m personally disgusted at these owners and alleged environmental “saviors”. I have taken notice of the true goal of these centers in question. For the readers who aren’t aware- cardboard, paper, plastic, glass, and most metals are recyclable. However, these centers will only accept materials that hold the most monetary value and the rest are left on the roadside to continually destroy our world. The all powerful Environmental Protection Agency should be out there enforcing that all centers accept all recyclable materials. Maybe then the world could become cleaner and a much more habitable place to live in. Unfortunately, I have but one voice and the E.P.A. is not listening. So I urge the human race to stand up for the planet and tell these centers, plants, and even the Environmental Protection Agency that all materials need to be recycled before we choke on our own putrid waste. |
