Earthjustice Taking Epa to Court Over Corexit Oil Dispersant
A Senate panel was also held yesterday, regarding the use of Corexit on the BP Gulf oil spill.
Its been nearly 3 months since the BP leased oil rig, Deepwater Horizon, exploded and sank into the ocean, just off the coast of Louisiana. BP has been using enormous amounts of a dispersant on the oil spill. This dispersant is called Corexit. Everything about Corexit is scandalous…check out my other articles about Corexit:

Within the first month of the oil spill, the EPA told BP to stop using Corexit. This is because Corexit has been banned in other countries for over 10 years, due to its toxicity and other reasons. The EPA did not enforce the ban and BP has been using the chemical dispersant in record amounts, since day 1.
Now, environmental group, Earthjustice is demanding some answers about Corexit. The group filed a federal lawsuit in Florida, stating that the EPA should be forced to supply results of studies done on Corexit.
A Senate panel also held a hearing on Thursday, regarding the chemical dispersant and BP’s use of it. EPA chief, Lisa Jackson testified about chemical dispersant’s, to the Senate Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science.
