Around 1/3 of the animals on Earth are endangered, what will you do about it?

Issue One: Tigers

Humans have taken over and there are far too many that believe we are the kings and queens, that we deserve to be at the top of the food chain and anything below us does not matter. Animals are not disposable and they deserve to live as much as we do, remember extinction is forever. Could you live with yourself if these stunning animals disappeared forever and you had done nothing? One of the best ways to save our animals is to raise awareness, the more people that know about the enormous decline the species are going through the more people that will try and help them before its too late.

Despite the tiger being one of the most powerful mammals it is still under threat of extinction. The humans are the tiger’s biggest enemy but they do have others including elephants, large buffaloes and bears. During recent years tiger hunting has gone up in popularity and their numbers have decreased rapidly. India now only has about 4000 tigers in the entire country and Nepal now has only 200, these figures are extremely low compared to the past numbers.

Male tigers can reach weights of five hundred pounds while the females reach about three hundred; the Siberian Tiger is the largest out of the tiger family also making it the largest in the cat family. They can adapt well due to the fact that they can swim and are good at climbing, but even though they have this advantage it still cannot save them from the humans. Everyday tigers loose their life so that someone out there can make some money, ask yourself just one question; how is this fair? People will kill them for most of their body parts from their fur, their claws, and teeth and even in some cases their eyes and whiskers. All because someone somewhere done the line said that a part of them could be used for medicine uses. But if someone said that if you cut someone’s finger off then it could save your life, would you really go and kill a human just to do this? Would you kill them so you could wear their skin as a coat and parade around in it showing off the ‘talent’ you think you have because using a gun you have the power to kill something.

These animals may not have long left, with all of their sub species being declared as endangered they are already disappearing from our world. There are charities that are trying their best to help these stunning cats, but they can’t do it alone and they need your help. Will you give it to them or wait until it’s too late to do anything?

Don’t say you do not have the money to make a difference, even doing things such as spreading information to your friends and family, writing articles about these animals can help. Research; learn everything you can about the species. The more information you know the more you can help them. Talk to charities such as WWF that are trying to help them, sponsor a tiger, and hold fundraisers to raise money for charities. There is so much you can do, so what are you waiting for? Get out there and save the tigers!
