Global Warming: A Call for Strict Government Intervention

There is always the tendency for people to be self-centered. We think our selves and how we could survive in our environment, more than anything else.

Let’s face it. People care less for their environment like the way they give little attention to the sack of garbage indolently lying in a corner. There is always the tendency for people to be self-centered. We think our selves and how we could survive in our environment, more than anything else. Thus it is never surprising that in surveys from some private organization measuring the level of commitment of people towards their environment, the results shows that fewer people care for the future of his environment. Thus, there is a need for the government to intervene and have a strict implementation of Bills for the Environment towards its Citizens.

In fairness to the government, it has already started its measures in saving the environment. On of this is the creation of the Kyoto Protocol which aims to lower levels of Carbon emission in the atmosphere to create ties with other nations all around the globe to promote environment awareness. Using renewable alternative sources of energy like solar powers and wind turbines that never emit carbon dioxide is also being discussed in the said protocol. If only countries would have a strict implementation of lowering levels of carbon emission then the destruction of the environment would take in a slower pace. I never said here that it would really STOP destruction since the environment’s destruction has been started years ago therefore we cannot escape its effects.

Take for example countries like Japan and New Zealand. They are one of the cleanest and eco-friendly countries in the whole world. New Zealand is promoting the use of wind turbines while Japan is opening itself to the use of solar energy and nuclear power. If our countries would take their example, there are more chances in saving the environment. Saving the environment is not just about avoiding the use of fossil fuels. It is about loving our environment and helping each other to heal it.
