Global Warming and Energy Choices

What is the best energy choice is.

For generating Electricity I would choose wind energy as an energy source. A windmill is a machine that converts energy from the movement of air into mechanical or electrical energy. This energy may then be used for generate electricity. The good things about using a windmill is that is very eco-friendly and does not disturb any habitats. It also does not pollute the environment in any way and most important of all it does not give of CO2. The bad news about it is that it is very expensive and requires specific conditions.

For Heating homes and workplaces I would choose solar energy for my energy source. A solar panel is a panel which is usually placed on roofs to convert the sun’s energy into energy used to heat homes. The good things about using a solar panel are that it requires no electricity and it produces its own energy (from the sun) without releasing CO2. Also Solar panels are relatively cheap and unlike windmills they do not need money to maintain. The bad things about them are that they do not always produce enough energy and like windmills, require specific conditions (sunny areas) so not everybody can use them.

For Transportation fuels I would use solar energy again. This would be a solar panel placed on a roof which would charge an electrical battery. The good things about this is that they completely eco-friendly and emits no CO2 and does not require non-renewable fuels to be made unlike biofuels. Also it is a completely renewable resource and you do not have to spend money on it. The bad things about this are that it is quite heavy and is not very reliable because if you have no sunlight and your battery runs out then you are stuck without a car.
