Global Warming-stop It!

How serious is Global Warming? Find out.

Global Warming – Is it really happening?

Many people realized the devastating toll of global warming, while some of us still believed that global warming isn’t that serious and it is just a bunch of crazy environmentalist exaggerating the fact so they could earn money.

Well, the truth is, global warming is happening, and it isn’t going to be taken lightly. In North Pole, scientists are now able to map how high the CO2 level is back thousands of years. How? Because every time snow falls in North Pole, bits of air are trapped in the snow, and preserved for hundreds of thousands of years.

After the industrial revolution, the amount of CO2 increased dramatically, it is estimated that the carbon dioxide today is 3 times higher than the peak point going back 8,000 years. Hurricane Katrina took the lives of thousands and left a pass of destruction, how did meteorologist ignore this hurricane and issued warning just before the disaster struck? Well, when Hurricane Katrina swung past the Florida Keys, it was a level 1 hurricane, but when it got across the Gulf of Mexico, it became a level 5 hurricane. Why did that happen? Because the Gulf of Mexico was three centigrade higher than normal and that fueled the hurricane and cause it to spin faster and faster.

Also there are significant ice melt downs in Iceland and the North Pole, an estimated 15-20% of ice has melted, and it is predicted the ocean level will rise 30cm and 47% of the world population will become environmental refugees. Take action now, the little things that you do helps to keep the world a little better. Besides, your children will get the benefit too.

I agree. Global warming is already here. 2007 is already announced as a too warm year, without any snow drops in the Alpes in Europe and hot temperatures for this summer. So it’s time to act, reduce water consumption and all those basic stuff. But I do think there are a lot more to do, and we need to dig more closely into green design.
