Go Green
Help the Environment in it’s struggle to survive.
As the Earth is in a time of pollution, we should all do something about it. This action is often called “going green”, for plants are green and plants are the only way to reverse global warming. This doesn’t require anything that big at all. Keep in mind that going green is like a river. Represent each of your efforts as a tiny drop of water. Eventually, it turns into a stream. Then several streams merge to form a creek. A few more creeks turn it into a river. Just a tiny bit of effort here and there should do the trick.
The first thing covered shall be electronics. Electronics doesn’t have much to say about it, but there are a few things. Turn off the lights when you leave a room, or use sunlight instead of bulbs. Turn off computers instead of letting them sleep, and always unplug “energy vampires.” Energy Vampires are any appliances that use energy even when they are off. Also keep in mind to either use the microwave oven or eat it cold.
For a sports game, for a career of for school, try not to bring plastic bottled water. Use a reusable container instead. Every hour, several million bottles are thrown away. That afternoon snack you eat afterwards should be a piece of fruit, grown organically and locally. If you do not live near a farmer’s market, It might be okay to break the local rule. This is done to save gas. If you have to drive long distances to pick up a pound of fruit, that is probably even worse. For lunch, don’t pick up some fast food, because of the fact that you will probably throw away the perfectly good paper. Bring a lunch in a box. Do not bring a sack, because it is about the same. Use a reusable box.
As for the other subjects, you might want to know that using cloth bags from home might do a great help with the environment. Take short showers lasting about four or six minutes instead of a bath. Wear organic shirts to cut down on chemical damage to the rivers. Try to reduce the use of aerosol. Aerosol is what is causing the Ozone Hole, and it also is known for being flammable (bug spray flame throwers,) so reduce the use of aerosol.
