For a healthier, happier, safer life and world.

There are many simple things you can do every day that will make an invaluable difference to your finances, life and the environment.

Use CFL lighting

CFL stands for compact fluorescent lamps. They typically run for about $5 and up while the average light bulb costs about $1.50, however, they last about 6 to 10 times longer than average light bulbs. In addition, they also use about one-fourth the amount of electricity that normal light bulbs use.

Plant trees/Purchase Plants

If you own a home, planting trees around the perimeter of your home can save you significantly on your energy bill. Trees offer natural shading and insulation. Purchasing plants for your home or office will not only act as natural air purifiers, they will also improve work productivity in a significantly less expensive, smarter alternative.

Use Cold Water

Less energy is used when washing clothing in cold water. Cumulatively, you can save approximately $60 per year just by making this practical, small change.

Check out local Green and environmental organizations.

In doing so, you are reminded to replace toxic products with environmentally safe products that will save you from the potential high cost of doctor bills and health maintenance you may need down the line if you continue using toxic products. It is good to be aware that simple things like paint continue to be toxic for seven years after they have first been applied. In other words, while the unpleasant fumes might dissipate as paint dries its hazardous effects do not.

But, not to worry! Eco-friendly stores are here to save the day. When you take the time to search Green websites, you can find everything from eco-friendly paint to eco-friendly cleaning products and so much more. You can save your health and the health of others by purchasing green, natural paint products.

Keep Green Informed

Taking the time to learn and check out the latest and greatest Green inventions, products, etc. Everyday new improvements and better ways of living are being discovered. Keeping informed is worth your time. Your health and well being are priceless.

Please check out: Make the Most of Your Time…Socially Conscious. This is a Category of my blog and I am constantly adding new great Green links, blogs, websites, and articles that will help keep you informed. For example, I recently found a website that pays you for sending in your recyclable electronic devices called MyBoneYard.com. You deserve to be rewarded for preserving our precious resources.

While making green and environmental changes might seem difficult to integrate into your life at first, because they are unfamiliar and or maybe a bit more expensive than you are used to initially, with time you can gradually begin to add some of the suggestions above to your life. When you do so over time you will realize that you can make your life completely green and healthier for you and everyone in your life.

Every little thing we do can to make our world a better place is important. Together we can all make a difference.

Wonderful information. I am into green and I do everything I feel like I can do to save our planet for future generations, although I know there is more I can do if I dig a little deeper.

I concur, together we can make a difference. Like Ruby Hawk said, i too try to do my bit, but maybe if i try more i could do better. Nice tips you have here, like the ‘Use Cold Water’ one, very simple and could make a lot of difference.
Will definately read your blogs. Its good to know stuff like this, and be reminded of it often. When you have information handy, you tend to use it too.

    Go Green People!!

I’m currently adapting my life to become much Greener, but I can do so much more. Thanks for writing this article about it. I am especially grateful that plants can do so much, but unfortunately many people don’t realize this.

I had no idea about using cold water. I’ll definitely tell people about that.

    Again, thanks for writing this.
