Raising funds for your group or club can be a really fun activity. All it takes is a lot of cooperation from all the members and a little organizing by the person in charge of the fundraiser.

Other than the usual fundraising products of bake sales, candy bars, cards, gift wrap, lollipops, and stationery, there are many other things that can be used to raise funds.

If everyone works together there are many simple craft and jewelry items that can be created and sold by the group.

Anything that can be personalized is very popular. Everyone enjoys seeing their name in print.

Book marks are usually a good seller especially for church groups. Names and messages or bible verses can be hand painted on wide ribbon and decorated with gold paint edges.

Crocheted ornaments are also good sellers. However, your group would have to start creating the ornaments a couple months before the fundraising event.

A craft show is always a hit. Every member can create a different craft item. Those that just aren’t crafty can put together kits to sell. Just follow the directions for making something like a pair of earrings. Include all the parts that will be needed, along with a simple set of instructions.

A book sale is a great idea too. All the members have to do is bring in an assortment of books to sell.

Another super way to raise funds is to hold an auction. You don’t necessarily have to auction off tangible items. Make it a fun event by auctioning off services. For example, a babysitting task, a ready made dinner delivered to the door, mowing the lawn, or doing certain household chores or repairs.

Don’t leave out the possibility of having a fresh fruit and vegetable sale. Buy them locally, wholesale or from a farmers market. Be sure to include herbs , if you do this one.

The above ideas should get everyone thinking on the same track, so have fun!
