Help The World

How to reduce the impact of global warming on the road.

With fuel economy and also Global warming being major issues in the world today, there are ways in which you can help, as an individual, and if enough people take steps to make the world a more breathable option than it is now, then perhaps we can slow down all those negative impacts that use of vehicles create to the quality of air, and in the long term, the Ozone layer that protects the human species and earth.

REGULAR SERVICING

Regular servicing means you burn cleaner oil. By neglecting this aspect of driving, you are sending out pollution that is unnecessary. By servicing your vehicle frequently you also help in preserving the vehicle longer.

BUYING ENERGY EFFICIENT CARS

Those vehicles that are designed to reduce emissions were designed to help the market be sustainable in this day and age. Huge gas guzzlers are not only unnecessary, but are eating up vast amounts of valuable fuel. SUVs that are not used as over-landers, or for weight carrying that they were designed for are wasteful.

EMISSIONS CHECKING

In garages, emissions tests are available and your garage can tell you ways in which you can make the emissions that leave your vehicle less. These adjustments need not be expensive and are a small price to pay in protecting the world we live in.

SHARE DRIVING

Have you ever seen a chain of cars all going in the same direction with one passenger per car. In many major cities, shared driving means less vehicles on the road, and consequently less pollution. Sharing with other family members means you are using less gas and sending out less pollution. Park and ride stations all over the country offer travelers the chance to park on the outskirts of city limits, and then take public transport, thus cutting down emissions in built up areas.

WALKING

By walking occasionally, instead of driving to the corner shop, you are cutting down emissions, and also benefiting your health.

SPEED AND IDLING

Keep within speed limits. This may sound odd but it really does make a difference. Vehicles traveling at high speeds emit more pollution. With having the engine switched on while you are stationery, you are using energy that is wasted energy. Turn your motor off, open your windows and breathe the air, feeling good that you are contributing.

By following these tips, which don’t have to cost a great deal of money, and by using unleaded petrol where possible, the difference to the environment worldwide from people in many countries following suit can substantially slow down the global warming, and the damage being caused to the Ozone layer.
