How to Make Your World a Little Better

These are my thoughts on making the world a better place.

While the whole world seems to be spinning out of control, the global economy, environmental issues, terrorism, and war, it’s hard to see the actions in our lives that make a difference to ourselves and others. It’s these things that ultimately will bring the changes that turn our lives our country and even our world around. More then ever overcoming our fears and exerting power over our spheres of influence is essential to improving our own lives as well as the lives of others. How do we do this? First thing let’s take care of ourselves.

Besides the fact that the production of meat is one of the most significant contributors to global warming, deforestation, and water pollution, red meat has been linked to cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and hypertension. I have no intention of becoming a vegetarian and giving up meat completely nobody loves steak or a quarter pound hamburger more then me, but I have cut down. I’ve also cut my salt intake. Cut down on fatty foods.   This along with exercise gives me the energy to be there for the people in my life that need me. By being there for the people that need me, I’m worthy of the people that are there for me. Every morning while I’m exercising and throughout the day I take time to listen to some music that lifts my spirits or read something that challenges or inspires me. The way I’m hoping that maybe I can inspire someone with this piece. Also take some time to be still, shut up and take time to listen to your own thoughts take time to feel. This will help you be ready to listen to others.

Take the time to listen to those you care about. Offer solutions if you can If you can’t that’s ok just listen. Occasionally people just need to talk things out so that they can arrive at their own solutions. Don’t be afraid to offer your ideas, and for God’s sake if you feel that the best assistance you can offer is to give someone a kick in the ass don’t hesitate they may be thankful later. I am someone who is where I am today by having received an occasional boot here and there.
