How to Save the World

We all live in it, our children and grandchildren will also have to live in it. It’s vital that we all do our bit to help this planet.

Save Resources

We’ve all heard it before but it is so important. Global warming is a real issue. We’ve all seen its effects, whether we’ve noticed them or not. Polar ice caps melting and hot weather are just some of the things that are occurring all around us. In the future, do you want your grandchildren to have to deal with the consequences of your laziness? So, try to use as little energy as possible. Buy energy efficient lightbulbs and turn appliances off at the switch.

Donate to Charity

Most people don’t have any idea how much just a little money can do. 2 cents can provide water for 6 days for somebody through WaterAid, $3.55 can school a primary school aged child for a year and 10 cents can finance a $400 loan to someone poor who wishes to start a business. Half the people in this world live on less than 2 dollars a day. Why are you in the lucky half? Someone dies every 3 seconds, it’s your turn to save a life.

Surf the Internet

It doesn’t sound like much, but you can really help someone out with just a bit of your time. Just by clicking you could save someone’s life by giving them water, feed them or educate them. Try these site:

Ripple

Hunger Fighters

Poverty Fighters

World Hunger: Contribute Food

Or, you could search the internet. Searching the internet through Ripple donates money through every search you make. And, the search is powered by google, so you know you’re getting the best results. Install their toolbar, so that you’ll always remember to search through them.

Also, playing games can raise money. Try:

Free Rice

Free Flour

Help Thirst

These games are very useful in real life as well. You can practise almost any subject at freerice.com such as chemistry, maths and languages as well as improving your vocab and grammar skills. Helpthirst.com is great for improving your memory as well.

Sign Petitions

Use this site: http://www.petitionspot.com/

Support your cause by signing a petition for them, if enough people do it then people will take notice.

Volunteer

There are millions of charity organisations who all need your help. Set aside a day one time and spend it making the world a better place.

Overall, you may not save the world, but if enough people do this there’s a chance!

We might not be able to save everyone but if we can save one person it would be something.
