Is Technological Advancement Against or for Saving the Earth?
by Ever since the Industrial Revolution has stuck it has littered the skies and this bullish technology march continues to quicken its pace with time.
Technology no doubt is by product of human civilization and has improved our lives ever since this word was invented. The vital question is whether technological advances affect earth or not.
In ancient times need for a better hunting technique was also felt by cavemen on the planet and if we in today’s world need the same then what’s wrong. The answer is invention of the different hutting tools was the need of the hour and was a necessity, as hunting by tool was much easier than by bear hands. So it was justified but look in present scenario, how much of the technology that is around us or we use is actually necessary to us? How many of us have actually thought the technological advances are actually harming our planet?
For example, the usage of cell phones has no doubt helped in improving the communication. You can now talk to anybody situated at any corner of the world from the ease of your living room but have you ever thought that your cell phones have batteries that are made of up heavy metals and plastics that add up to not just the soil pollution but also water pollution as these are non bio degradable substances. If these chemicals seep into the underground water level can lead to many dangerous diseases including polio and hepatitis.
Mankind has become so blind in the race of getting more technology sound that we do not seeing the harmful effects of it. Floods, earth quakes, climatic change, green house effect etc are some of the common ill effects of such technological advances which could have never occurred if we would have not played with the nature as we have done.
Our advancement in communication, transportation and weapons are the reason why our planet is facing environmental issues and social upheaval. Due to human nature to fall prey to ego and greed and our desire for more convenience have actually lead to present disturbance in the nature and its now high time that we wake from our slumber and help Save our Planet before it’s too late.
We have created deadly weapons, nuclear weapons that can destroy the whole region in a flash. Not to forget the invention of chemical and biological bombs. The human greed for the best technology has put him to the verge of extinction.
Technology has brought more harms than goods for the mankind. It would not be wrong if I say technology is the reason why our planet is in trouble today. It’s high time for us to decide and see the advantages and disadvantages of such technological advances as the time is running out and if we do not learn from our past mistakes than the day when mankind would also extinct is not far.
