Is There any Truth to Going Green for Our Planet?

Everyone is running out to go”green” to save the earth; this is not something new! It may be new to those who are use to running out and always getting the newest fashion, or the lastest trend; but society has always concerned themselves with conservation. It is only the last twenty five years that we have allowed the industries to do as they please, and now those very same industries or manufacturers are telling us to go “green”.

Is There Any Truth; To Going Green For Our Planet

What is all, the ruckus about having to go green to save the earth, is there any truth to it, or is the big companies and manufacturers find a new way to get money out of us consumers. They have persuaded most who can afford it to buy hybrid cars, purchase “green” bags to go grocery shopping. Who are these people telling us how to dispose of our old television, computers and other electronic; and why, this is not something new! We have been for ages required to set up special pick-up for these items, or take them to a “recycle” plant/location; it has only gotten big because the Eco-scientist have put pressure on us as consumers to do something about waste. If we don’t do something soon, our future generations will be living on garbage and eating ten eye fish, and cows with five legs. This is not due to changes in the atmosphere this has to do with common sense. This has to do learning how to reuse things instead of just running out to get the newest items on the market.

Lets take a good look at our daily garbage; eggs, potatoes skins, along with the skins from a banana and two onions, these are items that are bio-degradable and should be placed in a compost pile. These items will dissolve and return nutrients into the ground, when placed in a pile of other such items in your back yard. We don’t do this because it brings with it, raccoons, skunks, and other hungry critters of the night. There are companies out there that have a practical answer to that problem, it is a container with lids or other contraption to place you compost items into, over time, it breaks down and can be returned to the earth; unattractive to the critter of the night.

Glass and certain plastics are being pickup separately and are recycled. This is a great thing, since sending it to the landfill creating more garbage and these items are not biodegradable. These items glass and plastics can be melted down to make new bottles, for soda, milk and fruit juices.

Paper we have known for years can be recycled over and over again, for local newspapers, students notebooks and other reading materials and packaging material. One newspaper can be recycled through out an office, with many readers, before heading to a paper-recycling mill. A newspaper has the ability to go through the process of recycling about seven to eight times, after which is seems to totally disintegrate. Which not only saves us space in the landfills, but in practical terms this helps reduce the number of trees that get cut down yearly. It is no surprise and it has been a fact since the beginning of time that trees provide us with oxygen rich air. Trees also act as a purifier to give us clean, unpolluted air. Trees and humans need each other to function, if we keep cutting them down, one of us will lose. This is not something about going green this is common sense since the very first day the earth was created.
