It’s Time to Put Up or Shut Up
There’s an urgency to start doing your part to make this a better America. Stop complaining about what’s wrong in your community. Do something about it.
When Presidential Candidate Barack Obama was running his Presidential Campaign, he reminded us this is our country. He challenged us to help him to make America a better place. Well now he’s President Obama. Now it’s time to get to work.
The time has come for us to be more accountable in our own lives and communities. Those of us who have children need to be more engaged in our children’s lives. Whether it be attending PTA meetings at their schools, reading to them more or just being a better role model, parents need to be more active in their childrens lives. In our communities, we need to stop ignoring our neighbors. We should be trying to find out what we can do together for the greater good of our neighborhoods. Try lending a hand to a neighbor or any one else that needs help. When we help each other we indirectly help ourselves.
Our country is in a financial crisis. We’ve got to take charge of our financial situations. It is incumbent upon us to make more informed decisions about our personal finances. Purchasing items we can not afford or don’t need is a problem that’s at the height of our financial problems. Using credit cards when you know you can’t afford to pay the bill is a practice that needs to stop.
Volunteerism is the best way to make positive change in our country. There are thousands of ways we as Americans can give back to our communities without spending a penny. Some examples are mentoring or tutoring kids, tutoring an adult that’s learning to read, volunteer at a local school, pick up trash off the streets of your neighborhood or help an adult find a job just to name a few. When all segments of America prosper, we all prosper.

Maybe we just all need to be a litte more selfish, a little more individualist. People need to stop thinking about everyone else and do their jobs for their own sake. Buisness will grow and the employment rate will drop. Try Atlas Shrugged – mankind getting together isn’t the answer, its moving apart!
