You always need to be safe when making non-toxic cleaners. Always have a recipe and make sure you are not mixing two products together that will turn toxic.
Cleaning carpet stains is always a daunting task. Some stains are hard to remove. You need to blot up spills as quickly as possible. Always test a small area with your homemade cleaner to make sure it doesn’t do any damage to your carpet color. For general stains, put an equal parts of white vinegar with water in a store purchased spray bottle. Spray mixture on stain and let set several minutes. Soak a sponge in warm soapy water and scrub. Bloodstains on carpet should be treated right away with club soda and water. Dry with towel and repeat if you think it is necessary.
Ink stains are a terrible stain to get spilled on your carpet. Put cream of tartar on top of the stain and squirt drops of lemon juice into this. Repeat if needed. Non-oily stains should be treated with one teaspoon white vinegar, one teaspoon detergent that is liquid, and one pint warm water. Rub gently on non-oily stain and rinse by dampened rag in water. Make sure you blot carpet dry.
Sparkling glass and mirrors make a home more beautiful. To clean windows without streaks, make sure you don’t clean them when they are too warm from the sun. Wash up and down when cleaning. Use a linen towel or crumpled newspaper for shine. Put amounts that are equal of white vinegar and water that is warm in a spray bottle for a good non-toxic cleaner. If you have cut glass, use baking soda on a damp cloth. Make sure to rinse with water. To fix a scratch on glass, you can apply toothpaste to it and gently rub until scratch is gone. A great cleaning mixture for your windshield glass is three parts vinegar and one part water. Applying this before an ice or snowstorm will keep your windshield frost-free.
Clogged drains can really be an aggravation, but who wants to use all the strong chemicals to get rid of it. Instead, try this non-toxic formula. Put ½ cup baking soda into your drain that is clogged. Next you will need to add ½ cup of vinegar to clogged drain. Cover your drain with a stopper. Wait a few minutes then flush with boiling hot water. This cleaner is not to be used with any commercial drain cleaner. This would be toxic.

My son had asthma until I stopped using store bought cleaners. I now make my own too and he no longer suffers from the asthma. It’s terrible what is put into our everyday products. Liked your article!
