Need for Preserving the Environment
The environment involves external surroundings like the earth’s atmosphere, air, drinking water, and forests.
Plants and animals live and grow in it. It influences their behaviour and growth. Man’s survival also depends upon the environment. It should, therefore, be kept in good condition. But our surroundings are increasingly being threatened and polluted by smoke, noise, dirt, dust and chemicals etc.
No doubt, nature has an effective system to control pollution. But man himself has upset this balance. So, theres a great need to preserve environment. More trees should be planted. There should be ban on cutting down of trees. Forests should be preserved. Treatment plants should be installed in factories to purify outflowing water. Much attention should be paid to hygiene and sanitation particularly in urban and semi urban areas.
