Paying For Protection?
Stop corporations that insist that they ‘need to protect us’.
It has happened to you, I know it has; because, It’s happened to all of us, more often than we want to admit. We, who pay our bills on time. We who pay the salary of the Representitive at the other end of the line. We, who contract the Utility, Insurance, and Credit Companies and only request that they provide their service without their antagonistic attitudes. At what point did we become the victims of this Insane Practice of Protection?
You know the Reps, the ones with a small amount of, what they believe is power. The ones, that torment you with the most unnecessary, ridiculous , repetitive questions like, “And who are you?” or ”What’s your phone number?” They know the phone number. I have caller ID in my house; therefore, I’m sure that a huge Corporation, like Verizon Communication, also has it. After all they are in the Telephone Communication Business. But, alas, they go on with their mind numbing, ridiculous quiz, allegedly, protecting me.
“It is for your protection“, is the patt response, they spout out regularly. “We have a privacy policy“. “We have to protect your privacy“. “I’m sorry, it is an internal policy and we can’t send you a copy”. “Oh, I’m so sorry for your frustration, but I don’t think that I’m able to assist you.” What the heck is that all about?
When did we go into the mode of wanting or needing protection from people, who work for us? We hired them to provide a service. When did we start to pay them and work for them, as well? I have survived, just fine without the protection of X.Y.Z. Insurance Corporation.
I am sick to death oftheir empty apologies ! Don’t say your “SORRY”. Take action, think, use your brain, respond to my concern. Take a gamble, go out on a limb for me, the customer, and find out how you can assist me, not just antagonize me with the empty headed nonsense that is spouted from Reps mouths, after each question, that I ask. What is your address? What is your Zip Code? What is your Phone Number? What is your Blood Type? That’s the next question I expect the Companies to ask me, the next time I call to pay my bill, or request information.
