Polar Bears and Their Fast Disappearing Home
Polar Bears are vulnerable and threatened. They are amazing animals that live on the arctic ice.
Polar bears are amazing creatures that live on the arctic ice where it meets the sea. It is the largest carnivore that lives on land.

Polar bears have adapted to the cold temperatures, they are the largest of the bears along with the Kodiak bear. They are in danger as the ice melts away from the enhanced greenhouse effect. They are listed as vulnerable, the numbers are lowering every day.

Seals make up the main part of a polar bears diet using many methods of hunting. They range from stalking there pray to waiting for the correct time to make a frenzied attack. The polar bears have evolved making them for suitable for the arctic weather, an example being larger feet than the other bear species.

As the bears habitats are melting as of global warming, there struggle is melting ice caps means there is less thick ice which they need to hunt seals, there main source of food. Also as polar bears are not the strongest swimmers, less ice means more swimming for the bears. As of this drowning can happen and less den areas are available.

The polar bears are not like grizzlies, they are not territorial. Polar bears are very frigid animals and would rather back away from a confrontation rather than attack, unless of course they are provoked. I hoped you liked the polar bears!

I love these creatures. Unfortunately, there is a bill that is being overturned which will effect these creatures even more. A bill that Bush put into place that Obama is trying to destroy. A real shame really, I voted for Obama.

Oh my, that last picture gave me chills… poor bear!
Polar bears are actually very aggressive… one of the most dangerous bears in existence.
I saw this documentary once where it was showing a bear that was hunting seals. It was all covered in blood and stuff, and the guy doing the commentary said that most people are shocked to see a red bear, instead of the white fluffy ones.

It’s too bad that animals never went extinct or had to adapt prior to the evolution of humans. It truly sad that a species is forced to adapt to changing climates and actually conform to the tenets of evolution. I mean seriously when all the continents were combined in Gondwanaland near the equator the polar bears had full range over the entire arctic ice…just them and the seals.

Just about one year ago this at this time our news was touting one of the coldest and longest winters in recent history, and stated that the Arctic region saw ice-pack build-up the likes of which has not been seen in over 30 years…
