Proud to be Human
Striving to make being human a pride rather than a shame.
Are you proud to count yourself as a member of the human race? Watching the latest Narnia movie, it makes we wonder. Humans are depicted as violent scheming destroyers killing Narnian (the rest of nature).
Back in reality, what have we done?
- Global Warning
- Genocite of entire species
- Pollute the air, land and sea
- Create and use weapons of mass destruction
- New diseases that infect both humans and animals
- Manipulate genes to create monsters!
And the list goes on.
So what are our redeeming factors?
There are individuals who are showing us the way to redemption.
The one whom I respect the most is Mother Teresa. She left her life of luxury to be among the poor and destitute.
Then we have Alfred Nobel who setup the Nobel Prize to encourage us to strive toward high achievement in physics, chemistry, physiology and medicine. Also when I think of the millions of people, who selflessly give of themselves for the better good – the policemen, the nurses, the teachers, Red Cross, Green Peace.
After thinking of this and looking and the many good people out there, I realize that maybe because we keep focusing on the negative that is why we keep getting more negative in this world. What we should do is spread thoughts of the positive, behaviors that we want and strive to make us proud to be part of the human race!!

Those who go about their daily work are contributing members of the society, creating a value others can use when the time is right to need that particuliar kind of value. We are all invaluable.
