Richard Belzer Adds Animal Awareness Campaigner to His Resume
Talks about an upcoming campaign for the North Shore Animal League that actor Richard Belzer is partaking in.
Actor Richard Belzer most recently known for his stent on Law & Order and has agreed to take on the role of “Uncle Sam” in an upcoming campaign to bring awareness to saving the lives of animals. The campaign, being launched by the North Shore Animal League, will portray Belzer in the Uncle Sam outfit with the slogan, “We want you….to Adopt”.
Belzer will be surrounded by various pets and the campaign is being launched in this manner to take advantage of the current presidential race going on between Senator John McCain of Arizona and Senator Barrack Obama of Illinois.
According Devera Lynn a spokes person for the North Shore Animal League, “it is estimated that nearly 5 million pets are euthanized in the United States each year, while countless others are abused or neglected.”
Belzer is a longtime supporter of the North Shore Animal League and a pet owner himself. He has recently described this campaign as a “noble cause for which he has a strong affinity.”
The North Shore Animal League is the largest “no-kill” shelter in the world and adopts out more than 20,000 animals every year.
