Saving America: The Grassroots Movement is Under Way

Americans are unhappy! In the upcoming elections their voices will be heard loud and clear. There is a grassroots movement going on to vote out of office the incumbents. Americans are worried deeply about the deficit, new taxes, illigal immigration, freedoms, spending, wealth, etc. Silence is not an option.

A 13 trillion dollar deficit is on the verge of sending America back into another depression. A 13 trillion dollar deficit pulls us to within 5% of our total gross GNP. Perhaps that doesn’t sound to bad until we consider this is what happened to Greece. Government overspending bankrupted Greece and the country leaders had to get a bailout from the European Union.

The American Tea Party Movement is focusing on changing the way American politicos run the United States. The concern is that our elected officials are ignoring the American people and their concerns on many issues.

The Tea Party movement began in 2009 and has emerged through a series of locally and nationally coordinated protest of the US government actions. These concerned citizens are protesting several Federal laws such as, The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the 2009-2010 Health Care Reform Bills, and now on the agenda is illegal immigration.

Illegal immigration is a hot topic to many Tea Party members. The time for change has came and the US elected officials are ignoring the obvious. Illegal immigration is costing Americans millions upon millions of dollars. California is near bankruptcy but yet still provide for illegal immigrants. Arizona has taken a pro-active stance on illegal immigrants and many states are studying Arizona’s new law and are poised to write new legislation to curtail the steady flow of illegal immigrates.

The truth is, the United States already has a law that could stop illegal immigration. It is illegal for companies to hire illegal’s without proper documentation. The company can be fined for the hiring of persons without proper documentation. The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 provides for sanctions against businesses that hire undocumented workers, which means workers without proper identification.

In March 2005, Wal-Mart, a company with $285 billion in annual sales. was fined $11 million for having untold hundreds of illegal immigrants nationwide clean its stores. If the US hit the companies with extravagant fines, it would curtail the illegal hiring practices many of these companies ignore.

Voters are angry and change is going to be abrupt. Many incumbents will be voted out of office this term. The movement have singled out many old school politicians who have not conceded that Americans want change, will have a hard time represented their party (democrats) in the primaries. Its almost unthinkable that they will re-win their seat in congress or the senate in the upcoming elections taking place in November.
