So What About Environmental Science?
by We need the environment but does it need us? Why should we study Environmental Science? Why should we even care? Read on and learn what the subject’s about.
“Environmental science is an interdisciplinary study. It’s all about how the earth works, and how we interact with it.”
Yeah, we got that. So what? Why do we have to study it? It’s just like any other science. We can learn about what it discusses in just about any other science subject and we just get bothered studying the same topic. It just gives us information on how we interrelate with our planet and just explains on the facts about our Earth. It’s like a subject that has nothing to do with us. It doesn’t need any of our attention and it doesn’t seem like a very important subject.
It seems like a real boring thing to give much attention to. We just seem to study it because it’s part of our curriculum thus, it would affect our grades if we don’t participate in it. We’re all giving much effort to a subject that could be studied and/or included in another field (like Earth Science or Biology). It just keeps repeating the subject matter again and again throughout the whole subject.
Aside from being a very boring study, it seems opinionated as well. The things we learn in Envi. are themes which we need to give opinions about. We have to decide which is right, which is wrong and when to make a move. It gives stories about events that have happened and teaches us how to act if that certain event occurs again. It doesn’t really give you everything to know; this science actually lets you discover, too. It gives you a really hard time to discover what you need to know and barely gives you an idea if you are correct or not. It just keeps you going around in circles leaving you with no answer leading you to the boondocks.
Actually, Environmental Science is a really helpful subject. It teaches us on how we can deal with the planet’s environmental problems. With the knowledge we gain in this area, we can make our earth a better place. It tells us stories of events where the people of that time and place did not know what to do during that situation causing them disaster to their place, causing them to ruin their lives and tragedy to the earth’s good reputation of being a very life sustaining planet. With the narratives mentioned as we study this subject, we learn about how we can solve those paradoxes. Once we know how to deal with them, we are able to prevent those problems from happening once again. Aside from that, we learn about the reasons why those sad events happened and we also learn about what would happen if things like those wouldn’t be given much attention to.
