Stop the Inhumane Practice of Crop Spraying

The U.S. Needs to Stop Policing Drugs Around the World and begin to focus on what it can control: itself. We need to educate our citizens to behave more intelligently and not rely on law enforcement as the sole solution to peoples’ use of drugs.

As stated in the article from which that excerpt is taken, Dyncorp is “a defense contractor based in Virginia that had been spraying in Colombia since 1991, [and]was awarded a $US 600 million contract to fumigate illicit crops in Colombia (Walcott 2003).” This practice is immoral and needs to stop.
Only through the decriminalization of drug policy abroad can the harmful practices being used to fight their production be put to a stop. We need to address our congress people and leaders about this issue. The fact that it goes on without the knowledge of most Americans is outrageous.
We need to put trust in citizens at home and abroad to be able to micromanage their lives without the complete domination of law enforcement and regulatory policy. We need to fund programs to educate Americans, Afghanis, Colombians and more to create a culture of strength and wisdom to enable people to make wise choices in their lives without the threat of force being held over their heads. This is the path to true freedom.
