The Departed War Child Memories
They come to this world live and die in a war they are not responsible for. Lets remember them. The departed war children.
The horror News world over, it’s not something new We have become used to the misery, it no longer bothers us That is why it’s only fair, I cleanse my callous conscience Oh the war child nobody knew, no photo taken of you, To remind us of your existent, so silent no more, War child even though long gone, let me immortalize you.
Your short existence almost fades from our memory, Shame on us, that you were just a statistic to gather After all how could we describe the horrors of war? Without quoting you as part of a statistic, and gloating over it Imagine we got paid to find how many of you died. Guilty consumes me; we could have done more, SORRY. Instead of gathering statistics, we could have gathered courage And said! Enough, with the mass slaughter of the innocent Enough, with these greedy, arrogant blood thirsty tyrants, We did nothing, but jabber policies yet they save not a life. You came we watched you die, while we held silly conferences Now long departed war child, accept my apology SORRY! In future instead of watching, I will act in your memory, Your brief mortality taught me, it could have been me. Never were you to blame for the war, innocent blood Those who shed blood claimed they did it for you, liars. They were furthering their selfish powerful ambitions. War child, thanks for letting me immortalize you bye now.
