The Marijuana Boom: One Step Closer to Freedom in 2009

Have you heard about Marijuana Inc and California’s fight to free the use and production of marijuana all over the US? They are breaking through the barriers for everyone.

Sadly, for the states that are bold enough to break down the barriers, they are still under the scrutiny of the Federal law, and there has been no nation wide break down on the laws for many years. Which means that even if there are no laws in a state, the federal government can still come in and raid crops, houses or anywhere else they please.

Thanks to the many events and corporations in the USA such as; NORML, Chronic Awareness, Hempfest and other organizations that are dedicated to the freedom from laws that restrict hard working citizens from using marijuana recreationally or medically, there have been many new bridges built and ties broken.

I was amazed to be sitting in my Seattle home and viewing a commercial on the TV for Marijuana Inc. An in-depth interview and coverage of the Marijuana society in the western part of California.

It is estimated that over $10 billion dollars a year is spent in California alone to fight against marijuana users and their kind.

Hoping to find cartels, drug lords, and illegal importers, the government has found themselves struggling because they only seem to grab harmless users found in possession with a few questionable leaves, and they waste a lot of tax payers money.

This is not only happening in California, but instead, law makers all over the nation are fighting with tax payers and marijuana users, because no one wants to waste money on such a useless project.

Even those who do not smoke, but have met or have friends who smoke, do not wish legal repercussions on the harmless pot heads of our nation. It is a waste of tax payer dollars to spend money trying to cut down plants and ’scare’ people away from using marijuana.

Marijuana Inc is proof that it is useless to try and stop anyone from doing something of their choosing, and it is also proof the power of citizens to ban together and protect their rights to freedom.

Legislators in California have already ‘legalized’ marijuana and have no state laws against its use, growth or sell ability. They instead have taxed businesses and users to gain their own governmental part of the booming pie.

Marijuana is a multi-billion dollar industry in it own, and that’s all while its illegal! Can you believe that for all the money the federal government spends on the war on drugs, the marijuana industry makes more than double that amount easily!

There attempts to wipe out crops, to arrest dealers and users, and to spread rumors and lies does nothing to slow marijuana from becoming more popular than alcohol has ever been.

On top of that, the medicinal value of marijuana is extremely high, and has gained the respect from the medical community. Even lawyers and judges are starting to sway to the ‘lighter’ side of things.

Some law makers in our federal government are beginning to give up on hopes of squashing marijuana and its hundreds of communities. Its about time!

Even our new president Obama has stated that he does not believe the laws we have in place are helping society or are worth the tax payers expense. We will see if he does anything to change the future of the Marijuana Industry in 2009…

One Step Closer… I could smoke to that
