The Truth on Pedophilia

Describes facts, fiction, and the nature of pedophilia.

I often feel bad for pedophiles. Don’t get me wrong I despise the harm of children, especially in a sexual and emotional way and if one ever harmed any of my family members I would probably move for the castration. However, I do believe that it is an illness, one that cannot be cured rather than moderated. But like any addiction (which is how I view it) it is hard to break from. Even if a pedophile attempts to better their lives and stop their behaviors it is often difficult. They are unable to live in most places, work in most places, drive near parks or schools, work near parks or schools, and are often shunned and ridiculed by society. As you can imagine, this can be very difficult for any person to cope with or stay “sober” in these kinds of conditions.

If you feel that any child you know is being abused seek out help from an authority. There are very precise procedures that are done in determining the form and nature of the offense. Children are often intimidated, scared, confused, the offender may have threatened them or a loved one, or have led them to believing that the nature of their relationship is normal and so it is key to insuring that qualified professionals can help the child.
