Why is this called the worlds most shameful shopping list ?

This is called “the worlds most shameful shopping list”because it involves ruthless killing of whales, rhinos, elephant and tigers .These are the animals that are used for such purposes. But my main focus is on ruthless killing of whales.

Killing of whales by Man

Man has been pitilessly killing whales for centuries for their meat ,skin and fat. Even the nursing mothers and their suckling young ones have not been spared. Their skin is used for making belts  and sports bags . Their fat is used for making car wax , cosmetic and skin creams. Their bones are used for making jewellery, buttons. The Japanese, the Europeans  all have been killing whales in thousands and making fortunes.

Some might well question this public outrage against whaling . Do we not kill animals for food? what is the ethical difference between slaughtering a whale or slaughtering a lamb? Is it wrong to use  available resources? These question, valid in themselves, can best be answered with facts . Whale population increase so slowly that it will take them very long time to recover from mans  indiscriminate hunting. Specifically, it takes four to eight years for the whales to reach sexual maturity. They produce only one calf at a time – mostly one every three years. In short ,man has been destroying whales at a much faster rate than whales can reproduce. There is now real danger that man might destroy the whole species in his haste and greed.

There is no doubt that the years of slaughter have left whale numbers severly depleted. Today nobody , or even the scientist or the conservationists, have any firm idea of how many whales are left, or even if we are in time to save them. But it is estimated that man has killed -for greed and commercial exploitation- at least 70% of the number of whales that were in the great oceans at the start of the century. We have killed them .   Why? Why?Why?

Whales : do they have a future ?

i don’t use anything that uses any part of an amimal in the ingredients. I use detergents, wear belts and use skin cream but mine doesn’t have anything of animal in it. I am also vegetarian. I do not eat anything that breathes.
