Building is an opportunity to make sure your property has its own green footprint for future generations.

Location, Location – The golden rule of real estate applies to creating an Eco friendly home. Consider your property’s proximity to public transportation, stores, schools, that all contribute to a healthier you and world.

Material World – Prevent unnecessary landfill by recycling unwanted windows, bricks, flooring in your renovation build. Ask your builder and architect to avoid non-renewable resources in favor of green solutions, such as steel reinforcements, and plastic timber.

Renovate or Detonate - Consider the benefits of renovating an old property against the drawbacks of building a new one. You can have the best of the old and the new by restoring original details, rethinking the floor plan for more modern living.

Leave the Heat Outside - Ever admired quaint houses in Greece or Italy with wooden shutters to keep out sweltering midday sun? Outside awnings and blinds are much more efficient than indoor equivalents. It can keep temperatures down by up to nine degrees.

Recirculate Hot Water - Its frustrating, wasting, waiting for hot water to flow through your shower or faucet from a hot water tank. Waiting just 30 seconds can result in 4 gallons of good water going down the drain. A simple hot water recirculation can pump cold water sitting in the pipes back to the tank until hot water is at your faucet.
