What Happened to the American People?
Don’t just walk by.
These times are hard enough. People being laid off work, people losing their homes. Who do you think the homeless are? They are Americans who need a helping hand. It could be your mother, father, some other family member or someone else like your neighbor. These people did not choose to be homeless. It could happen to you at any time. One day your working and a great provider for your family and the next you loose your job due to lay offs. Don’t walk by these people and call them names or spit on them. If you see a family living on the street, in boxes buy them a tent. At least they can have shelter from the heat or weather. Buy them food and try and help out as much as you can.
If an employer is seeing these people as he drives to work offer them a job. It doesn’t have to be very much money , just enough to help them get by. We have closets full of clothes that we don’t wear , give them clothes. It s not hurting you to give something you don’t wear anyways. You have a day off , spend it with the homeless, drive them around and let them look for work. Think about it next time. These are Americans and they didn’t asked to be called names or treated like they are bums. You know most people cant get a job unless they have an address. Get a post office box for one of the homeless. Spend time and learn about these people before you judge them or throw them away. This should not happen in America. We are one, act like it.

I wish this article, even an extended version, could be printed in every newspaper and read on every television newscast, in the U.S.
These are questions everyone should be asking themselves. Really. What has happened to us? We have all become so self-centered and egotistical that we have no room in our lives for common decency. It is a shame. We should all be ashamed of ourselves. This is a great article. I pray that many people will read it.

I agree, don’t get me wrong, with the message. But that’s not even the problem. If people in this country actually started to think and stop letting the goverment do everything for them we wouldn’t have this problem, and I’m refering to the employers not the peopl laid off.
If the car companies had listened to the market and built better gas milage cars instead of gas guzzlers, and the housing companies had listened to the market and not built 200,000 extra homes, We would never have to deal with this. It’s like those in charge just stopped paying attention?!
