What Would You Do If You Saw a Fight in the Street?

A while back just outside my home there were two mature women attacking a younger model. As it was outside my house I stood and watched and that was enough to stop the older ladies from going further and punching the living daylight out of her.

After they had stopped what they were doing I talked to the young girl (18), took her home and gave her my number and said if you want a statement I will more than happy do it for her.

She was grateful and although I have never heard anything since I felt I did the right thing rather than just walk on by seeing someone get hurt physically and emotionally. I just wish I had filmed it on my mobile phone.

What if I saw a fight in town then would I act different?

Yes. I would hopefully have had my mobile phone on me I would have video about minutes worth to get something on footage and then ring the police.

Depending on the people involved, size of them and numbers involved I maybe tempted to do the good ‘Samaritan’ thing and intervene rather than cross the road which is the easiest thing to do and lets face it most people do it now because if people intervene there is more likely you would get prosecuted rather than the people fighting.

Sometimes when we try to over come injustice justice often never prevails but I always try to think of the under dog i.e. the person being bullied & attacked so it does not get any worse, well there and then anyway. This is something I would hope someone would do for me if I was ever in that unfortunate position.

In Summary, try to film the situation on your mobile, call the police and get others to get involved until the law comes. In the long run getting involved is better for society. What would you do?
