Why People Don’t Care About the Environment
People say they walk the walk when it comes to helping out the planet, but in the long run it sure does not look that way.
There has been a lot of hype lately about global warming, those damn greenhouse gases, the melting ice caps, and the SUVs that use 25 liters of gas just to go to the supermarket. Sure you see that family down the street from you recycling a lot of the materials they use in their home, or maybe they went that extra mile and bought an electric or hybrid car, but I still see guys driving down the road with a bag of mcdonald garbage or a starbucks cup, and they don’t want it to smell up or clutter up their old beaten down truck, so they decide to throw it out the window. I am luckyto live in a small town where I can walk like 200 feet and I am at this river. This is the Kettle River In the boundary division of British Columbia.
It is a beautiful river to swim in during July and August.
But is it too much to ask for you to take your little bag of garbage and put it in a garbage bin, not on the side of the road?

All the garbage seen here would fit into one garbage bag.
It is my belief that many people say they recycle and are doing all they can to sustain the resources of our earth, just so they can reach that social status. Now I don’t mean everyone cause I know people that are compassionate about the earth and do clean up their garbage after them and do recycle all for the good of life on earth.
What people don’t get is that we are using up all the resources in our world, like the oil, and even fishing, because it’s a major food for the world, but it is being over done, and the numbers are already dangerously low.
People aren’t going to do anything about that problem until it is in their face and slapping them around, but by then, it’ll be too late, so we need to do something now.
What I am trying to say is that bag of mcdonalds in your hand isn’t very heavy, and it would be nice if you could carry it an extra 25 feet to there the garbage bin is instead of dropping it on the ground.
