Why Should We Protect The Amazon Rainforest?
Why should we protect the Amazon rainforest?
It would be true to say that rainforest provides a great deal of advantages for both human being s and animals. Therefore we should try our best to protect the rainforest; however there are some factors on why we should not protect it. This following essay will provide examples and evidences on both for and against reasons.
The main three reasons why we should protect the Amazon rainforest are because of the medicine it supplies, its help of reducing global warming and the habitats it provide for wildlife animals. If we destroy the rainforest, it is like killing ourselves. This is because the Amazon rainforest is one of the biggest sources for medicines. Medicines found in rainforest are very useful as they can cure various diseases. Also, if there is no rainforest, there will be a crisis as there is too much carbon dioxide in the world. Rainforest reduces carbon dioxide and in return gives out oxygen which human used to respire. Too much carbon dioxide increases the greenhouse gases which lead to global warming; the Amazon rainforest is on the world biggest rainforests which help reduce global warming. If we destroy it then it will affect the world temperature, there will then be no winter in the world. In addition, rainforest provides habitat to thousands of species. The destruction of Amazon Rainforest may lead to the extinction of certain animals that live there. In my opinion, rainforest must be protected because it significantly yields a great deal of benefits for all beings.
On the other hand, there are some factors on why people think that protecting rainforest it not necessary. One of the reasons is the need of space for building roads and factories since urban areas are already too crowded. Population is increasing everyday so there is a demand for space. This means that trees must be cut down. I disagree with this because you can solve this problem by building space efficient and tall buildings. As a result of increasing of population, there is a greater demand of food production. Farmers need more space to plant crops and do vegetation in order to supply the food for the world. Another reason is logging for natural materials. Lots of people are having the same thought that cutting down only one tree for furniture will not affect the rainforest. This is wrong, if you think like that then the rainforest will disappear as it is not only you who have the same opinion. The main reason for logging is that people can make a lot of money from it. These people are selfish because they do not think of the benefits of other people.
In conclusion, we should protect the Amazon rainforest as it offers a great deal of benefits for all beings in the world.
