Wind Power

Really old wind power paper I made.

I chose wind power because I like wind mills, and I learned a lot about them when I was doing my research paper. To summarize what wind power is, it’s what wind mills produce when they take the wind and turn it into electricity in a clean way. Then we can use it to take away coal burning power plants that spew bad emissions into the air. For example, it is estimated that wind power will cut green house emission and reduce global warming.

I hope to find the answers to these questions. 1. If wind power can really solve global warming? 2. How much electricity can be produced from wind power? 3. How much it will cost for wind power? 4. How much wind power is currently being produced in the United States today? 5. Where are the best places to put wind farms?

Instead of coal, wind can be used to produce electricity.  Coal currently provides 54% of electricity in the United States. Each year 600 million tons of coals are burned in these power plants. Coal is the largest cause of air pollution in the United States. Wind energy has no emissions, no water to pollute and wind produces no waste. It is estimated that wind energy could supply 20% of the United States electricity. If power lines where in place to carry the electricity to the grid, North Dakota itself could supply 1/3 of the United States electric demand.
