World Water Day
The UN have denoted 22 March as the “World Water Day”. Under the “Water for Life” motto, ecologists throughout the world organize manifestations for a healthier planet and for a cleaner water.
Scientists inform us that, at the moment, one third of Earth’s population lives without access to quality water. Because of this, approximately 25,000 people die every day, especially children. An African only has 10-20 liters of water to use, which must be enough both for drinking and household consumption. On the other side, an European uses 300 liters of water a day on average and an North-American uses 500 liters.
Unfortunately, water is unequally distributed on our planet. For example, in Peru’s amazonian parts there is much water, but all the Pacific coast is very dry. According to the last studies, global warming and demographic growing will accentuate even more the deficit of potable water.
