12 Things to Do When There is No Power

Exactly what the title says.

Seems kinda silly to write this because if you don’t have power you can’t read this. Maybe your reading ahead of time or maybe your cell phone as Internet. If so here are 12 idea’s I have for things to do when the light’s go out.

1.) If you have a fiance’, husband, b/f, g/f, wife, etc… You can always NANA.

2.) Go outside and play flashlight tag. It’ll bring the kid out in you. Plus you lose weight.

3.) Start talking about old memories and stories from when you were little. You’ll be surprised what you can learn from others or even yourself.

4.) Grab a box of graham crackers, marshmellows, and chocolate and go make smores outside. If it’s night lay back and look at the stars and relax.

5.) Create a story with friends by saying for example bob went and let the next person start.

6.) Tell jokes and try to come up with new ones.

7.) Create shadow puppets with the flashlight

8.) Discuss what you think people did in the old days when they didn’t have electricity.

9.) play charades in the dark or a board game by candlelight or flashlight.

10.) Are you by yourself? Then how about read a book or start writing down what your getting whom for Christmas or what your next vacation is and where.

11.) take a stroll around town. With the lights out you’ll notice it’s quieter and you’ll appreciate nature a little more

12.) Hide and go seek in the dark is always fun because the dark makes it that much more of a challenge.

Luv it when dear ol’ dad starts regaling me his recollections of how much harder he had it as a kid… walking 10 miles to school and having 15 cows to milk each morning & night (or was that ten cows and 15-miles to walk, -I’m confused) but my fave story he was waling home late from school one night (-he had all them thar cows to milk you know) and to make a long story short, he had to kill a black bear he encountered in the road armed with only the loose-leaf notebook he was carrying… I dunno …kids must have been more rugged back then. Black bears were more plentiful too.
