5 Ways to Sleep Better

Everyone is having trouble sleeping these days.  Worrying about finances certainly doesn’t help.

If you find yourself tossing and turning all night here are 5 Ways to Sleep Better:

  1. Try to clear your head before bed.  No TV, definitely not the news either on TV or web browsing.  This will unsettle your mind and the truth is the news will be there in the morning.
  2. Avoid exotic or ethnic foods.  If you want to eat a little snack before bed stick to bland foods like bread and popcorn. Spicy or rich foods will force your belly to stay up even if you want to sleep.
  3. Do some exercise before bed.  Try 100 jumping jacks or squat thrusts.  This seems counter-productive but once your heart-rate slows back down the night ahead will be much more peaceful.
  4. Make it dark. Pitch black if you can. The lack of sensory input, even if your eyes are shut, will do wonders for your sleep.  Add some earplugs, too.  Dark silence like being bured alive… that’s sleep!
  5. Have sex! Honestly, nothing works like sex.  Masturbation won’t be as effective but if you are alone or your partner just won’t help out, it is better than nothing.
