51 Essentials to be a Success!
- How to respond to adults.
- Making eye contact.
- Congratulating someone.
- Respect other students opinions, ideas and comments.
- If you win, do not brag, if you lose do not show anger.
- If you are asked a question in a conversation, ask a question in return.
- Cover your mouth, (and wash your hands if possible) when you sneeze or cough and say “excuse me”.
- Do not show disrespect with gestures.
- Always say “thank you” when you are given something.
- Surprise others with random acts of kindness.
- When you receive, something does not insult the gift or the giver.
- Follow along when we read together in class.
- Answer all written questions with a complete sentence.
- You must do complete homework, every day.
- Subject transitions will be swift, orderly and quiet.
- Be as organized as possible.
- When given homework do not complain or moan.
- When the substitute teacher is in the classroom, the same rules apply.
- Know other teachers names by heart and greet them by name in the hallway.
- Greet visitors and make them feel welcome.
- Do not save seats ANYWHERE!
- Call me about homework if you have a problem and leave a message once.
- Be responsible for you trash.
- In a hotel room, leave a small tip under the pillow for the person/s that clean up after you.
- On a bus or a train always face forward.
- When you meet someone, shake his or her hand.
- When offered food take your share.
- If someone drops some thing, pick it up.
- Hold the door for people.
- If some one bumps in to you say excuse me.
- On a field trip, enter a public building quietly.
- On a field trip, compliment the place you are visiting.
- During a performance, do not call out to friends.
- When answering the phone answer with a polite and formal voice.
- When returning from a trip, shake hands and thank every chaperone.
- On escalators stand on the right side.
- When walking in the hall keep the arms to the side and walk quietly.
- Never cut in line.
- During a movie, do not talk or use the cell phone.
- Never talk during a movie performance.
- Do not eat fast food.
- Do not eat food quickly.
- Do not bully anyone.
- Stand up for what you believe.
- Be positive and enjoy life.
- Learn from your mistakes and move on.
- No matter what the circumstances always be honest.
- Carpe Diem (make the best out of the day.)
- Be the best person you can be.
- Care about others as well as yourself.
- Learn as much about other cultures as possible.
