A Life Detour
Life after college is difficult. But, with the right direction, a crisis can be avoided.
A mid life survival guide: five steps to treating the Quarter-life crisis (and even preventing the midlife crisis)
You’ve just graduated from college

You’ve got your own apartment in the city
But one question still remains to be answered: Who are you?

If this describes you, you may have hit the half way mark to that dreaded midlife crisis. A fifty year old man looks back on his life and regrets not having done certain things or not having taken his chances.
May I suggest that YOU have the ability to affect your future and even prevent a midlife crisis from occurring?
- Look back over the first quarter of your life. Take inventory of what you have truly enjoyed, what you have been successful at and what you will enjoy doing in the future.
- Make a list of wishful dreams. It doesn’t matter how big or small, as long as it is a dream of your own. What you dream of is unique and explains a lot about you as a person.
- Take another look back over these two inventories and compare. Find where your past memories meet your future dreams. Once the connection is made, you are ready to move on. If you are having trouble finding the connection, spend a few more minutes with each list.
- Make it your goal to live out your dreams, as long as they meet your passion, before you reach thirty
- Build good memories everyday. It is the memories you will take with you. It is important to document your memories as well as keep them close to you. This way, when you reach the time of a midlife crisis, you can look back and remember that you did live life to the fullest, before life got out of control.
