Do You Really Want To Be a Photographer?

Hi, I’m Ben and i am a photographer and would like to share some advise in becoming a photographer and what you will need.

First of all you WILL need: An art GCSE C-A to get in to a college and even university if you wish to pursue photography. This should be easy since nearly all school’s provide a art GCSE course.

It would also be a very good idea if you took a GCSE business studies course aswell, this would help prepare yourself to go into self-employment if you wanted to.

What If I’ve Left School?

No problem, however there will be a bit of a delay. You will need to see if you can get yourself in a community college which provides an art GCSE (this would take up to a year maximum so don’t get worried). Other ways which i would suggest is making your own portfolio in your OWN time, this could be tricky depending on you skill in art because you will be drawing (Oh yes) did you really think it would be taking a picture and getting an instant pass…NO chance.

There are many job opportunities in photography and i’ll just name a couple…

Well if your into pets like me you might consider going into pet photography  my friends who are pet photographer’s told me a very good way of advertising is popping into a local vet and giving them your business card, many people have told me that they have always wanted pictures of their pets and my family has millions of pet pictures scattered around the house.

There are numerous other opportunities such as taking pictures at wedding’s, its always nice to see people get married and this would be a perfect for you as you can get paid a lot of money depending if your clients are middle to higher class and can afford some top-class pictures.

Is It Worth It?

As i said before my job as a photography does pay quite well and i am earning quite a lot but for me their isn’t a day that i don’t love my job, and i couldn’t care if i didn’t get a lot of money, the point is that i love my job and i walk home everyday with a smile.
