At 26 – Serious Things You Should Consider in Your Life
At 26, you never think about certain things in your life, you would say, you’re too young yet to think about “serious” things, but a couple of stories, from my friends, from my life, from strangers would make you think twice on how you view your life.
At 26, you never think about certain things in your life, you would say, you’re too young yet to think about “serious” things, but a couple of stories, from my friends, from my life, from strangers would make you think twice on how you view your life.
I am still young, my parents are still young, I have enough time left to make them feel that I love them.
This sounds so true, but I would personally tell you that it’s not. My boyfriend’s mom died suddenly from a thyroid storm, she was fine, they were happy, and one night, they took her to the hospital because of dizziness, she was admitted to the ICU, and after two weeks she passed away. Nothing is more surprising than losing someone you love so suddenly. The whole family was devastated, and here I can truly say that indeed, in the end, all you have is regrets if you don’t do something about it today.
I also know somebody, who was supposed to get married at the age of 30, a couple of months before the wedding he was shot by an angry motorcycle driver due to a traffic spat. He was pronounced dead when he reached the hospital. Life is fleeting. Never assume that you will still have another day, always live like this will be your last day on earth.
I am a young, my career is thriving, I have a stable job, so I practically have a stable life.
I have another friend, who has his life going so great. He got married, had a kid, and his wife just gave birth to their second child. He was a manager in one of the biggest coffee places here so he practically has a great job. But one day, he lost his job. His staffs were caught taking inventory supplies, so they were sacked, with him. IT was sad, it was surprising, and he was caught off guard. No matter how good your job is today, it won’t hurt if you have some savings with you now.
I don’t need insurance. I am still young.
Young means lower payments of premium and the best time to get an insurance policy is while you’re young. When you’re older, and you realize that you need one (You will, eventually) it will be too late, and the premiums that you have to pay would already be incredibly high. I was grateful that when I started working, I was assigned to audit the insurance business of our company, and this made me realize how important insurance coverage is. I got mine a little after 6 months of working, and it was really fortunate, because if I get the same coverage I have now, my premiums would be considerably bigger.
20s is a great age, there are millions of possibilities swirling at your feet, take it and be happy. Live your life like there’s no tomorrow. But also never forget that you are young enough to enjoy, and old enough to know your responsibilities, not only to yourself, but also to your family.

Hi – enjoyed your article – which also shows your maturity, even though you are still young
