Bad Things Happen in Sequence

Sometimes I wonder why all of the bad things in one’s life usually happen either all at once or all in one time during the year.

For instance, you lose, your job, your daughter gets sick, your husband get’s injured ends up on worker’s compensation, you are informed you owe taxes, your children’s tuition is due but has increased, your boiler breaks, your pipes break, your car breaks down or you are informed you are now pregnant. So you sit at the kitchen table and ask yourself “What else can go wrong?” Just as you finish the question, the phone rings and you are informed one of your parents are in the hospital.

We all know that we won’t appreciate the good if we sometimes don’t have something bad that happens but why does it happen all at once? Then I begin to wonder, if the devil and God are sitting there watching us and as soon as the devil believes that too many things good are happening in your life, he decides “Oh no God, these people are too happy, we’ll see what bad things they could handle?” Then they again sit there and begin to watch and see how much stress and bad news the person can handle and just when you think things can’t get any worse, they get worse and the devil sits back and laughs his butt off. God has many people who need him and I know he never forgets you and if you are faithful, he says “Oh they are ok, they have faith. They could wait a little longer.”

Unfortunately, as we wait, the devil continues to throw more horrible things at you. You keep your faith and continue to as God for help and when you least expect to see the light to some good news; God says “Oh I almost forgot. They’ve been extremely patient and faithful. OK, devil no more, these people have had enough. It’s time they get back to their normal life and be happy. You leave them alone. Then all of a sudden, a glimmer of light appears and things begin to look up. You find out the pregnancy was a false alarm, you get a better paying job, you find out your children received government grants for college, the boiler wasn’t broken at all it was just a little pipe that was loose, the car only needed a battery, only one pipe broke and your neighbor fixed it for free, your husband’s health gets better so he goes back to work and is given overtime. Finally, your parents are well and are back home.

You sit at the kitchen table and say “Thank you God. I knew you’d come through. Better late than never. You always know when I can’t handle any more and come to the rescue. Thank you.”

If you are going through one of these difficult times where everything seems to go wrong; don’t worry, God may be just a little busy helping someone who probably is terminally ill, are in a severe accident, is at a war, is starving or alone and abandoned. He will return and remember you. He will remember that you have asked for help and soon give you the help you ask for. Hang tight help is on the way. Keep the faith.

I often wonder the same thing. I wouldn’t call myself a religious person at all, but sometimes I seriously wonder how I could possibly be in control of what is happening around me (or even to me). I think that maybe bad things happen so we are kept in check, stoping us from becoming too ungrateful, and willing us to do the very best we can in every aspect of life.

Thanks for the read, and have a wonderful day.

This gives me a little bit of hope. I’m not at all religious, but I do believe in God and I’m having a hard time right now. Right when everything seemed perfect-great job, wonderful boyfriend I was looking to live with, good family. Then, in a matter of just a few days, it all goes down the crapper. My boyfriend breaks up with me, I broke something very important to me, my car breaks down, a close family member is in trouble, and my aunt dies. I’m trying so hard to keep a positive outlook, but it’s getting to be too much. This made some good points, and hopefully if I go to bed smiling, hoping for the best, I’ll wake up to a good day and nothing tragic will happen. We will see. Thank you.
