Be True to Yourself!

Many girls grow up seeing pictures, magazine ads, posters, etc. of just skinny, stylish, beautiful women modeling for certain things. But what’s really behind it all? Well, it doesn’t matter what they’re modeling for, just the fact that they’re sending a message to these little kids that really don’t know what the meaning of perfect is in their life yet that this is what you HAVE to look like.
IT’S WRONG. and I know that now, but did I know that a couple of years ago? NO.
Many girls go through stages as they grow up. Changing how they are, what they look like, etc. And the reason being is because they want to be with what’s IN at the time. Trust me, I did the same thing. Not because it was “in”, well just because I liked it. But, not everyone has the same aspect.
I have met girls who become something they’re really not because they feel like they don’t fit in. And I would watch them everyday knowing that the ‘real’ person wanted to shine, just too scared of what people thought of them. Some people would actually tell me, and all I could really say was, “Who cares of what others think of you. Be who you are and don’t let anyone stop you.”
And it’s true! If you let people stop you from becoming who you want to be, well then..life was a waste. God put you on this earth for a reason. Because He knows that you will make a big impact.
I was watching interviews of Lady Gaga. Random, I know. But i’m glad I did. Because she’s a perfect example of what i’m trying to tell you. In one of her interviews, specifically on the Ellen Show, she was showing and asking Lady Gaga about the famous outfits she wears and what inspires her to wear certain clothing. and her response was:
“This is really who I am and it took a long time to be okay with that because i’m sure you all… you feel discriminated against like you don’t fit in and you want to be like everyone else, but not really. On the inside you really want to be like Boy George. Well I did, So I just want my fans to know that it’s okay.”
When I heard those words come out of a… chick who’s considered to be the biggest creeper to every person in the world, it hit me. I mean c’mon look at her, look at the things she wears, look at her crazy performances at music awards, lol. And does she care? Not at all. She has nothing to hide and she can careless what other people say. She loves herself for who she is, and no one stopped her from breaking out of that shell.
I really just want everyone to feel the same. Maybe, right now you look at this note and..you’re too scared to even realize what’s going on. Or you do realize, but you’re just scared of what people may think of you. But, WHO CARES. I really can careless what people think of me when i’m hyper, which is all the time. They say i’m immature and need to grow up. But that’s who I am. That’s what makes me.. Ammy.
AND I LOVE MYSELF FOR IT <3
Just be who you are, because that’s what makes us individuals. That’s what makes us different.
And being different is amazing. (:
