If you are planning to travel with your car you will have to do the following in order to lower the risk of having an accident.

  1. Don’t underestimate the dust on your windshield. If you are living in a large city then you will surely have much dust on your windshield. Try to clean your windshield before starting your trip because if you travel against the sun, your visibility is reduced to 70%. That is very dangerous because you won’t be able to see a pedestrian unless he is 10 meters or less far from you.
  2. Don’t place white or bright objects near the windshield. It’s shape will be reflected on the windshield and that will make you harder to see clearly through your windshield.
  3. Don’t wear sunglasses while entering a tunnel.
  4. If you spent all your day on the beach, it’s highly recommended that you don’t drive back home. Rest for an hour and then drive. Even if you don’t swim, you will be tired from the heat and the sun.

Of course, always wear your seat belt and drive carefully.

These are great tips, especially #2. I see people with all kinds of stuff piled up on their dashboard. I don’t know how they can see with the reflection from it. Also, I know you mentioned not wearing sunglasses when entering a tunnel, but I would also mention make certain to have sunglasses with you. I can’t travel without mine. Nice article.
